Day Five. We made it! We arrived in (around) Seattle today. It rained the latter part of our journey through Washington state. So when we arrived in Seattle the windshield was streaming rain water and all we wanted was to get to the hotel, unload the car, and find food. But this is the kind of weather that's to be expected in Seattle: cloudy, rainy weather. I think I could get used to it, though. The air smells so fresh and clean, and the vegetation is all shades of green.

Leaving Montana, we stopped off at a scenic view point and snapped a few pictures of the mountains. And of course, to stretch.

Before crossing the Columbia River, we again stopped off at a scenic view point. However, this time it was really worth it. A several stop offs we had rested at before were not so much scenic or view points of any sort, just a short drive off the highway surrounded by grassy brown hills that shielded us from any view. Across the river from us is the Gingko Petrified Forest State Park. 

It is so gorgeous here in Washington, mountains, grasslands, cliffs and dense green forests scattered with small streams. So incredibly beautiful.

Tomorrow we go to Bastyr University and walk around campus, maybe sit in on a few classes if we can. After that we plan on getting lunch in Pike Place Market and also picking out some fresh fruit and then maybe walk around Seattle a little since we've come all this way. As of now, we will be spending two nights in Seattle--a short break before heading down to Portland, Oregon. 

Today was another 25-hour day because we crossed into yet another time zone. And it's time for a shower and bed!
