It's not quite the same as being in Japan for Ohanami, but our own cherry tree is blooming! It is gorgeous. And the lilacs and viburnums are also opening their flowers to the sunlight. I cannot wait until I can get my hand in the dirt and spend hours with the green flowering life.
じゃあね!
The Peonies are sprouting up new growth and some are even readying blossoms.
The last of the "helicopter" seeds of the maple tree.
The chives are early in their blooms, but they will probably bloom in a week or so.
The hastas have come back this year despite the odds.
The viburnums are in full bloom. The two plants have the most blooms this year than ever before.
The cherry tree!! Huge flowers. The last few nights have been getting down to low temperatures so we were all worried that the blooms would fall early, but they seem to have done alright!
Lastly, the lilacs have begun blooming. The sweet scent is amazing. The lilac is one of my favorite plants.
Two more weeks of school, so off to bed to sleep well before tests tomorrow. Looking forward to being on summer break and enjoying the outdoors again!
