Back from the 4th of July vacation. First on the itinerary was a Shakespeare play in Stratford, Canada. The Taming of the Shrew was the play we saw, which was very entertaining and even funny :) The theatre we saw it at was the Festival Theatre.
Then after an early evening in the Stratford area we drove to London, Canada for dinner and to decide on our next destination! After much discussion and brain-storming we decided to drive up the cost of Lake Huron and finally stopping in Mackinac City to spend a day or two on the beach enjoying the quiet :) On our way up there, during the long drive, I happened upon a idea for a book when it was dark and lightning outside (great light show!) and so spent the days planning it out. Everyone enjoyed the water (my brothers are the only ones who went in it :D). We all suffered sun burn though, the only down side to the adventure.
Now, back at home and dreading the end of the week long vacation with my dad home and doing whatever strikes our fancy, we end it on our patio (avoiding at all costs the onslaught of nasty mosquitos), spending one night in a tent, which I am still surprised actually came to pass, and in general hanging out.
Last night, also known as the 4th of July, the day that marks the independence of the thirteen colonies from mother England, was spent in a tent and watching what we could see of the fireworks going off in our neighborhood. I will post a video of them but their hard to see and a lot of the fireworks are obscured because of a house in our line of sight (way too many mosquitos to actually get out of our screened sanctuary, a.k.a, the tent and watch them) so what's on the video is what we saw.
Hope everyone had a good 4th and if not from the US, had a good day anyway!
And wahoo! Made it to over 50 posts!! Halfway to a hundred :)
