Wisconsin and Back

So… back from a vacation to the state of Wisconsin, well, I've been back for three days but those days have been busy!!

Japanese right off on Tuesday and then there was a picnic Wednesday with a group of people we had not met before, so it was a new and interesting experience. But back to the trip…

So we were in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and we stayed really close to the lake. We were not camping though, haven't gotten up the courage to try that yet (cursed mosquitos!). But the lake was really nice and the park we were in was clean and almost- as much as can be in a state park -untouched by humans.

The water was a little on the colder side, but it was awesome!!! :) It would take a minute for your body to adjust to the cool waves but it was worth it. We swam out to a sandbar which was passed the "lake-weed" line, 'cause a few feet from the sandy shore was a continuos line of plantlife and pieces of it would break off and float in the water, which was a little annoying because it would stick to you. But passed that "lake-weed" line the water was clear.

We spent the first day out on the waves and the second day we walked a little around the capitol, Madison, and the University of Wisconsin. The city was nice, pretty clean and nicely built, the buildings were interesting especially around the university. We didn't spend as much time and we should have there, it was hot and a few of us lost our patience, so we ended up leaving earlier than expected.

But! On the bright side, leaving early got us to Kalamazoo with perfect timing. This stop wasn't planned on, but it was well worth it. We decided to stop there right before we got to the exit for Kalamazoo. Kalamazoo has Kalamazoo College and I was thinking of it a possibility for me. When we got there, we parked on the street to walk around the campus and passing us right then was a guy who looked like a student so m mom asked him if the area we were looking at was the entire campus. It was and then my family entered into a conversation with him and he offered to give us a tour around the campus!! Lucky no?

So, we got a really good tour around the campus and information about the school, the classes and life there. So, it made up for our quick exit of Madison. Completely worth the stop.

After that we stopped and got coffee (it was eight o'clock at night!) 'cause we had still a while to drive.

So that was our Labor Day vacation!! We had never been to Wisconsin and we all like Lake Michigan so that was why we decided on Wisconsin for our trip. We wanted more blue lines!!!*
