Less than two days left until we leave for Canada. I was talking with my mom today, and we were both saying that we can't wait until we are all on the road again; to be traveling from place to place with nothing holding us to a specific plan.
No one has packed yet, of course. We like to wait until the last moment to get ready. So, tomorrow will be busy with preparations; making the food for during the drive; packing clothes and necessities; checking the map one more time; putting everything in the car the night before we leave, so that at 5 a.m. we can just roll out of bed and stagger to the car. That's how we begin vacations, usually we start a little late, but somehow we make up for it and arrive ahead of schedule; beating Google Maps estimate.
But all of that comes tomorrow; today every one is just hanging out. My brothers and I even took the time to bike around the ponds and in the woods for an hour while the sun was still above the horizon. Lately, night has been coming sooner and sooner, becoming completely dark at around 7:30 p.m.
Even though the sun shows itself less, the sunsets and rises are the most amazing at this time of year I feel. There is a definitely difference between autumn and winter's sunsets. Autumn sunsets tend to be bright, fiery and the most vivid. Winter has most calm, clear and lightly colored sunsets.

The Pear Tree has finally decided to change color. It's one of the last to do so, most of the other trees are bare now.
