Montreal

Second stop along our road trip was Montreal. Again, to start we took the city bus tour and it was a good thing; there was no way we could have walked that far in one day. The bus took us everywhere: From the center of town to a mountain over-looking the city, to the university area, through many, many streets of houses, stores and amazing architecture. The tour took us through the old, historical part of the town and the new, modern parts. In the modern area, Montreal felt like how I imagine New York to be; buildings covered with windows and reflective glass, huge departments stores and even when it was dark out, it felt like day with all the of the lights of shops shining out onto the streets. It was a nice place though, especially the university area. The houses there where colorful, bright blues, greens, reds, yellows, many colors. And in Montreal too, French is the primary language spoken, so we practiced the few words we had learned in Quebec.
