Ottawa

Then on to Ottawa, the capitol of Canada to see all of the governmental buildings and the ByWard Market. When we arrived in Ottawa, it was cold, rainy and windy so walking around the city was a little less enjoyable than the previous two, but the buildings were amazing. I think they were Gothic Revival (?). We saw the Parliament buildings, the senate's buildings, a several others that I can't remember the function of.
Next, we crossed a bridge that lead toward the ByWard market. In the market were tiny privately owned specialty shops; shops with only cheese, others just fish and other selling only fruits and vegetables. A little different from the large all containing grocery stores here in Michigan (excepting the farmer's market). Both my mom and I were hoping that Chicago will have something similar.
After lunch, we grabbed a snack that apparently (according to the waitress) was an "Ottawa-thing" to do. It's called a "Beaver Tail" and is basically a thin, crispy doughnut with chocolate on top. So, we bought some and nearly ran back to the hotel to get out of the rain.
The next morning, the sky was clear and blue and the city looked amazing. Even though it had been raining, we still did everything we had planned to do and a little more.

The last, is of Putin (poo-TEEN), which is french fries, cheese and gravy poured over top. According to our neighbor, we had to try it. Even though we were told it is better in Quebec, we forgot until Ottawa.
