Exploring the city today, we started around midday and walked the eight or so blocks to Millennium Park and the area surrounding it. There is a "Celtic Fest" going on in the park now, a lot of traditional Celtic music, bagpipes and flutes. People swarmed around the places to eat and played on the grass, throwing a Frisbee back and forth, kids running around and many other people laying on blankets enjoying the musical performances. The park itself is beautiful, gardens and flowers everywhere.
Today was a perfect day for walking around the city, nearly cloudless and an amazing blue sky. It was cool with a gentle refreshing wind but the sun was shining as well, warming us as we wound through the streets.
We saw quite a bit, got to see a different part of the city, an area more bustling than Streeterville where we are. And we'll probably go back to the park; to take my uncle when he comes to visit, and then in the summer there are supposed to be free concerts in the park, which could be incredible!

Walking through the city. There are little gardens and areas throughout the city here, full of flowers and greenery with benches to sit and relax for a while. I love that park of Chicago, you don't miss the nature here because it's everywhere.

In Millennium Park there is this outdoor theater where a group of people were performing some of the Celtic music. In the summer some of the concerts are here and movies are shown here also.

Stretching out from the theater is this… And then after this massive green area is the flower gardens.

Then we walked over a bridge that crosses the road my dad takes to and from work. Traffic is good now, but when my dad is on his return to the apartment is can get quite congested. And still a good view of the city!

Walking through other sections of the park, we arrived at the Crown Fountain. It was spacious, a huge amount of area around the fountain…

The lights are coming on as the sun sets adn the night creeps in.

  

It was a good day; I think my mom enjoyed it, today being Mother's Day and everything. A fulfilled day and happy to be back home.
