A week off from the seemingly endless repetition of going back and forth between Michigan and Chicago. A whole week!
But it starts again next week, more dentist appointments and then the rest of orientation and other things concerning my enrollment at WCC (Washtenaw Community College).
But on the bright side, during our (one of many) trip back to MI, I was freed from braces! Yay! No more silver metal pieces attached to my teeth! Brushing now is actually fun, though I'm sure the excitement will wear off sometime soon.

In Chicago, since we are living way up here, in the clouds it would seem, we seldom see the change of seasons; the fall colors of right now or the blooming flowers that were so magnificent in Michigan this spring and summer. So, the trip back to our home in Michigan gives us that chance, and the opportunity to takes pictures of them. So the latest in seasonal pictures…

Thanks to a storm we had last week, most of the leaves have departed from the branches. And also because of this storm, the normally 3 hour to 3 1/2 hour drive took 7 hours, yes I said seven. The storm was so bad, especially in Chicago and the little bit of Indiana we drive through to get to Michigan, that we could barely see out through the windshield. There were tornado warnings a few miles south of us, debris in the road. And when we were only an hour from home, the highway traffic suddenly came to a dead stop.
The cause of this traffic jam was a semi truck that had been blown over by the storm winds and was in pieces in the middle of the highway. The detour to get around the accident was what took the extra few hours.
