Yesterday we returned to the city of Chicago, though only for a few days. Next week (and every week for the next several weeks) we will have to travel back and forth between Michigan and Chicago. Though I'm pretty much tired of the four hour drive (three and a half hours if there's no traffic), it is for a good reason: preparation for the final surgery for my dental implants and enrollment in WCC (Washtenaw Community College). So with the thought that this is the beginning of the end maybe the drudgery won't be so bad.

But during our short stay in the Michigan house, my mom and I planted a few mums, a flower that blooms in the fall. We added eight little plants to the front yard landscaping since it was looking a little lackluster with most of the other plants readying for the long winter months ahead. It was great getting back to gardening, short lived though it was. I put my iPod on, decided not to wear gloves, and got my hands in the dirt once again.
So, here are the new additions to our outside living space…

Some purple, some yellow and hopefully some red will dot the green of the ground cover.
