Day One. We got a sort-of-early start today, around 10:30--a usual time for us. We've driven about nine hours today, which puts our stop tonight in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
おやすみ!
We stopped for a coffee break about 3 p.m., brought the beverages back to the car and continued on with disposable coffee cup and cookie in hand.
Yesterday I put together oatmeal chocolate cookies and snickerdoodles as was requested by the troops (my brothers). Today's, and with any luck, the next few days' tea snack.
Highway 90 that we traversed for several miles.
The back of the car is packed full with provisions for three weeks, just barely leaving enough room for my seat in the far back, but everything we packed made it in. Hopefully it lasts for the length of this trip!
We passed a lot of farmland through Wisconsin and Minnesota. Wide open and hilly landscape was all we saw for hours, well most of the time we spent in the car.
We passed quite a few lakes, especially in Wisconsin.
Several miles from tonight's pit stop, we drove among fields with wind turbines scattered throughout, some operating and others still.
And lastly, this is where we will spend the first night of our Oregon Road Trip.
