The leaves are coming out!

The service berry tree has finally bloomed!

The pear tree, too!

Mint leafing out in force.

As the cherry blossoms' petals flutter to the ground, rich green leaves replace them.

Honey bees taking advantage of the white and pink blooms that still remain.

The chives might bloom before we depart to the west coast.

The cherry tree in the backyard nearing its full bloom.

Not long now and we leave on a long road trip out to Oregon and Washington state. Preparations have begun: mom has started baking muffins for the road; dad has started talking about the highways we'll take; plans of stuffing everything we need to bring in the back of the Explorer are being made.
Ah, the joys of travel. Looking forward to (loosely, roughly) following the Oregon Trail that Lewis and Clark forged to the west. Apparently we will be passing areas that are on the Oregon Trail; so, when we do, I will be sure to add those places to the map and post any pictures taken.

じゃあね!
