Day Sixteen. We've been on the road now for sixteen days. Today we drove over nine hours, but it felt like more than nineteen hours trapped inside the car. However, tomorrow will be the longest we've spent in the car yet: 11 hours. That will make today feel like nothing.

The scenery today didn't change much throughout our journey across Nebraska.

Although there was a lot of terrain that resembles old western movies we used to watch with our grandparents.

We didn't drive through any mountains today, which made Mom very happy, but we passed them by.

Flat. Flat land, mostly used for farmland and what is too arid is just left alone.

We passed through several towns, small towns with populations of 100 to 8,000. Other than that it was a lonely stretch of driving. For a little while we were the only ones on the highway.

Still some snow covering the ground out here.

Some monument we can't remember the name of. But we drove underneath it, and took a picture with the least amount of blur as possible as the car shot below it at 70mph. 

Though it was not comparable to the sunsets we saw while staying on the Pacific Ocean, we enjoyed a bright sunset out the back window of the car while speeding toward Lincoln, Nebraska, where we find ourselves tonight.

Everyone is taking their turn at the sink to brush teeth before turning off the lights and (hopefully) gently drifting off to sleep. We plan to get an early start tomorrow so that we can reach home as quickly as possible, maybe before 2 a.m.? We'll find out tomorrow. But on a brighter side, we'll be breakfasting at the Whole Foods in Omaha, a healthy, hearty meal to prepare us for the long eleven hours on the road leading us home. One day to go!
