Day Thirteen. Last day of vacation. Or that's what I'm calling today. The remaining days out on the road are mainly driving. The route home runs through nothing we have interest in seeing, so all that remains for us to do is drive the three-to-four days back to Ypsilanti, Michigan.
This morning was again leisurely spent, though the restaurant we visited seeking breakfast only served the morning meals selections until eleven O'clock. So we had to get up a little early.

But as soon as the bill was paid, we returned to the room and Mom and one other quickly retrieved coffees for a mid-morning coffee clutch overlooking to the stunning ocean view.

All of us enjoyed the early hours of today, the boys battling virtual beings in the world of WOW (World Of Warcraft), and Mom and I dillydallied on our computers and between the pages of books.

Today, being the last day on the beach, mom and I once again ventured out of the warm confines of the hotel room to the breezy, slightly chilly beach below. But when we stepped foot onto the sand, it was surprisingly warm!

Of course that meant "shoes off." Today's walk was not even close to the distances we tranced yesterday, but it was still a good walk in and out of the ocean waves that came crashing to shore.

The tide was higher today than the past two days; our feet got used to cold ocean water soon since we kept getting splashed in incoming waves. It felt good though, refreshing.

After the walk, Mom and I were joined by the three men in the pool and hot tub room for a series of dips in the hot water of the jacuzzi and cold salt water of the pool followed with time spent in the sauna. With re-energized bodies, we exited the pool building to find this extraordinary mode of transportation. Half-motorcycle, half car. Upon further investigation, the thing was quite interesting. The floor of the machine was wood, and the trunk of the bike is actually the front end of a car! The things we see.

The sky is cloudless again this evening so the prospects look quite good for an amazing sunset. Before the sun sinks too low, though, hot cocoa must be brought back to the room. I'm sure it's my turn to accompany Mom as the boys have each taken turns. Another quiet evening and night before the long, tiring car ride home. This trip turned out to be shorter than originally expected. We have provisioned for three weeks on the road, but we will have only spent two and half away from home by the time we reach Ypsilanti in the middle of next week.
A completely fulfilled trip this has been. And now to enjoy the last hours of it…

じゃあね!
