Lately mom, dad and I have been researching our family past, where our ancestors came from and where they immigrated to. So far, the farthest we were able to trace back was 1597 on mom's side with ancestors in France.
Dad's family tree (for the present) ends at 1812 but we are still seaching for clues and hints and will keep adding to the tree until we figure out where our name comes from. So far, the most complete family tree has been mom's although there are still a few branches that are incomplete.
We've traced mom's family back to France (several locations in France) and Germany.
And the only "extra info" (information besides birth dates, death dates, and birth/death locations) was that one of mom's great great grandfathers fought in the Civil War and an ancestor from the 17th century was a master pastry chef. Other than that all we have found out is names of people and places.
In dad's family tree, we think we've finally figured out where the CHerokee blood entered the family line back in the 1800s.
It's been a lot of fun finding out who our family in the past was. And we will keeping looking!!
