2012! It's the new year! And this year we properly celebrated. Usually we tart with good intentions, but always seem to fall short as the day progresses. But this time, we had a plan and activities set so we would not run the chance of going to bed disappointed. So we spent all day friday getting ready.
To start, we woke up leisurely, no one wanted to hurry. Breakfast was around 11~12 a.m., and after the morning meal Mom and I prepared the food for the evening.
Then, we played games, Monopoly, Chinese Checkers, until it was time to put the food in the oven and open the champagne bottle. We started the meal, I guess, a little earlier than we might have normally, 6 p.m., but we wanted t make sure we had enough time for the main event of the day:a bonfire with s'mores!
It has been, I don't know, seven or so years since we've had a bonfire in our backyard, and so we decided it was perfect for ringing in the new year!

The bonfire! We spent over three hours out there, cuddled around the flames laughing and telling stories! The best New Year's Eve we've planned yet.
We even bought a new fire pit.
It was a great start to the new year, 2012.
