This Morning My family and I got up early (well kinda :) and went to a physics lecture!! The University of Michigan has public lectures for many subjects but this series is on Saturdays, so my dad can come.
Well, today the lecturer was Dragan Huterer of the University of Michigan. He has given the best talk in the whole series of lectures for this semester. He is younger than the rest though, so he can keep up. No long pauses in the middle of easy sentences (i.e, the protons in………the………universe - something like that.) And he was an engaging speaker, kept the talk interesting and didn't fall into a lull or loose our - the audience's - attention.
He was talking about Dark Energy and what it is, where it came from (Which they don't know. And by they I mean the physicists.) Here is Prof. Huterer's page.
The University of Michigan's page for SMP (Saturday Morning Physics). We try to go every Saturday, at least for the ones we are interested in.
Next week is the Physics of Roller coasters, which should be interesting!! :)
Check in later……… HIL
