Inside Flood

Tonight, and for the second time, we went downstairs to find water sitting on top of our carpet or mats. The first time is was a small, tiny little hairline crack in the basement wall, which lead to our workout room and the adjacent room soaked. That was fixed in February and now, when we were a week from painting the basement walls, our sump pump fails. So now most of our basement has water sitting in it. Luckily we knew someone who had already had this happen to them and with their help we got a new sump pump. With the new device in place and working well we're left with the Shop Vac sucking up the remaining water at the base of our stairs, in the "play/music room" the storage room and workout room.
Well, that's life I guess. Tomorrow we'll be back at it, cleaning, drying and moving anything out of the way. Luckily my Dad knew what to do!!
Painting is pushed back so we can build everything up off the floor, more homemade shelves and a stand for all the drums and guitars so we won't have so much work to do if this happens again! A life lesson has been learned!

For the rest of the night we'll be watching MSU play for the national championship in basketball … Go Green!! And wait for last night's April snowfall to melt.
