It's not often that my uncle wants to see a movie, especially one that is still in theaters. But the film we went to see was an exception: Avatar. We had been hearing a lot about this movie and had wanted to see it as well. Since Avatar is very popular we knew, more or less, that it would be good, but it was well worth the trip to see it. Everyone (even my mom) liked the movie. The 3D was incredible. It was very well done.
The story had been done before and you could kind of predict what would happen but the portrayal of the story was amazing. The writer of Avatar had created an entire language, culture and history to the people of the planet the movie's plot is acted out. It was a lot of fun to watch it, and especially to see it with my uncle which was a first.
We got to the theater well in advance so we could have our choice of seats. Which was a good thing because not five minutes after we took our seats, people started flowing in, quickly filling the remains chairs. Very popular movie, indeed.
After the movie ended, we all exited the theater and walked to the Irish restaurant where we spend a few hours talking and enjoying each others company. When the meal was finished, we parted company and I drove home. The three boys in the back making themselves laugh for the entire hour drive home.
It appears that we were right about this winter being a mild one. This morning the sound of rain woke me. The falling water drops melted the little remaining snow which revealed the yellow-ish brown hibernating grass beneath. And the ponds that were once frozen have thawed... Maybe this all the snow for this winter...? I hope not.
