The second day we decided to get an earlier start to the day than we had the previous day. After getting breakfast at a restaurant in town we drove a short distance to the Potter's Creek Trail. This trail was less strenuous than Alum Cave's trail.
There was no snow on Potter's Creek trail nor was there any ice. However, hanging from the rocks lining the path, short icicles hung, slowly melting. The river we followed here was wider than the Alum cave stream, more water rushing over stones and around boulders. The sound was very peaceful, listening to the flowing water as my legs and feet below me moved onward, expending energy.
On this trail, we reached the waterfall and stopped for a while to enjoy the place. The waterfall was pouring down slabs of stone and then dividing into many little streams at the base among a collection of rounded rocks. My brothers climbed higher, crossed the base of the waterfall on a moss covered log to bring back the much enjoyed icicles.
After refreshing, we hiked back to the car following the same trail.

A historic barn and house from the 19th century along the trail.
