The weather was crazy today. A thunder and lightning storm last night that lasted until morning and then a few hours of clarity, just long enough for my mom, brothers and I to go to the store and do the shopping for the weekend. And just as we got back, all of the sudden a thick fog rolled in and covered most of the surrounding buildings. The fog stayed with us till around the time my dad came back to the apartment for almond cookies, a usual for Fridays now in our household.

This morning was the first time that we ventured a little off our usual path to the grocery store, taking an alternate route back home. We starting to feel comfortable in our surroundings now.

The ferris wheel on Navy Pier is lit up every night until about midnight, its flashing lights catching the eye.
