Early this morning, at around 5 A.M. we got out of bed and met my uncle at the front of our building. We walked down to the small beach only a four minute walk from our apartment.
The object of our escapade in the early hours was to see the sun rise over the lake as tomorrow is the Summer Solstice. If the solstice had come during the weekend we would have down on the day of, but with tomorrow being Monday my dad having to work and my uncle would have already gone back to Michigan. So we made do and went this morning instead.
The sunrise was amazing, nothing was in our way. We got to the beach about ten minutes before the sun was visible. The sky was orange, clouds streaking across the sky brightly stained as the sun peaked above the horizon.
We stayed until the sun was merging with the clouds and the bright colors had started to fade a little.
