33°C! It feels like all the summer months have come at once. Luckily we mulched the plants yesterday and today, so hopefully the shredded wood will keep some water from evaporating before the plants can absorb it. It smells incredible outside, though, with the scent of cedar wood. And another peony has bloomed!
A luxurious flower, and the fragrance is intoxicating.
A pink peony weathering the heat.
The white peony readying to blossom. Tomorrow? The day after?
The last lilac to bloom. We had thought it was a male since it had so few blooms in past years, but this year it appears we were wrong. This bush also smells sweet like the others.
The orange-ish color rose preparing to flower once again.
Although the day got started it little later than usual, breakfast was at 12 p.m. because that's when I got home from a babysitting job, all chores and projects are done for the day. Babysitting was surprisingly fun compared to previous jobs. The girls are growing up.
From now on, the rest of today is reading, watching documentaries, a little cooking perhaps, and just enjoying the cool indoors while the heat hopefully passes by tomorrow. Apparently it is supposed to thunder storm later today due to the hot weather, so if the clouds roll in I'm looking forward to a lightning show!
The last of the lilac blooms. In a few days, all the spring flowers will be gone, making way for the summer blossoms to flourish. Although I'm not a fan of hot temperatures, I do love the change of seasons!
じゃあね!
