Seeds are in the ground!! After the dentist today, I spend two and a half hours under the sun pushing tiny seeds into the dirt. All that's left to do now is wait and hope they sprout despite the sweltering heat that's arriving in the next few days. It's supposed to reach 36°C (97°F)!! Summer's early, a little too early.

The white peony has bloomed! And the ants are already crawling inside it's many layers of petals. According to my mom, the peony and ant has a symbiotic relationship between them each helping the other to thrive.

And as we moved around to the front during our "yard walking" we noticed that the weigela bushes are flowering as well.

Deep purple foliage of the smoke tree contrasted by the tiny soft yellow flowers. It's called a smoke bush because in the fall the perimeters of the leaves turn bright red making it look like it's smoldering.

Then for dinner we made falafel, and to accompany it, naan. But last night something happened. The entire naan puffed up like a balloon. Mom and I have never seen it happened before. The breads have been cooking better on the new griddle pan, so maybe we'll see it again.

The sun's setting, and everyone is winding down for bed in a couple hours. Time to join them.
