Two plants have snuck into our rose beds: tomato, and what appears to be a melon of some sort. For the past two years we've been composting and just this past spring we added to compost to the rose bins, and with it came these two fruit plants.

The tomato. It's still young but maybe we'll find little green tomatoes on it in a month or two?

The melon. We've decided to leave the two surprise additions to the rose bins for the rest of the summer. 

There are already several flowers on the melon plant, so maybe fruit later this year?
