The end of Family Day. Despite the rain that fell this morning, it turned into a sunny afternoon, which meant we could set up and play badminton!! We had planned to play badminton in the backyard, but because of the A.M. rain showers it looked like we would have to find something else to do. Luckily, the rain clouds cleared and the sun came out, drying the grass enough to play–of course in bare feet!
It was great weekend: waking up in the family room with everyone, making breakfast together, having tea time, and playing another favorite sport, badminton, with all five of us.

The new badminton net and the boys in the middle of a volley.
Our equipment–rackets, shuttlecocks, and bag for it all.
While we played in the yard, we also had drinks on the patio enjoying the warmer weather we are having. We thoroughly lived up our family day weekend!
And along with that "living it up," I made chocolate chip cookies for tea time snack while the boys exercised (doing crossfit) and mom did some last minute grocery shopping for coffee ingredients.
